What year is this? Hang on... What century is this?

I've been using z/OS and its precursors for a long time. I'm used to it. I can do that. But why do we have to?

We no longer have to use the command line is Windows (if we do so, it is by choice, much more than necessity). But z/OS, oh really come on, JCL, TSO, PDS, QSAM, BPAM, VSAM, IDCAMS... give me a break! IBM needs to give everybody a break.

What the heck will happen when all us main-framers retire - well who knows.
